As legend has it, the shepherds gathered in mass in Bethlehem as they journeyed to meet the newborn King. A little blind boy begged travelers to lead him to the newborn King but no one would take him. The little boy heard the faint ringing of a cow's bell and followed it, thinking that the cow might be in the stable where Christ laid. The cow, also journeying to the stable, led the boy to the infant. Bells have been used for centuries in America and Europe to help ring in the Christmas season. One German custom dictates that on Christmas Day no child may enter the room with the Christmas tree until the bells of Christmas ring. |
 | Birgit Müller-Blech (owner/designer for inge-glas of Germany) is a survivor of lymphoma cancer. In gratitude for her miraculous recovery, following a 5 year battle with this disease, Birgit wanted to support children who are dealing with similar difficult situations and so she created the Birgit's Wish series of ornaments. The United States Cancer Society for Children will receive 15% of the proceeds from the sale of these ornaments to fund cancer research. Each mouth-blown ornament is handpainted and beautifully gift-boxed. Birgit Müller-Blech has personally signed each ornament! |
